For the Flash-Blend method the following things are different.  The television screen is made less reflective, there’s a faux fireplace fire and the color of the ceiling and walls near the lamp have a lot less of an orange glow.  Near objects are better lit, and have better colors.   The advantage to the HDR method is it’s faster both on-site and for editing, so it’s less expensive.
